Fees and Insurance
Dr. Chen accepts Blue Cross Blue Shield of MA HMO, PPO and Indemnity
The cost to you per visit will vary depending on the deductible, co-insurance or co-pay of your specific plan.
New patients should check with their insurance plan prior to treatment to ensure Dr. Chen is in network and for details regarding coverage and reimbursement rates. Current patients should also notify the office as soon as possible if there are changes to your insurance plan. The office is not responsible for declined claims.
Copays are due at the time of the appointment. Deductibles and co-insurance will be billed after claims are processed by insurance.​ If you have an unmet deductible, the rates for each visit may be up to the amount listed below under Session Fees.

Dr. Chen may include up to 3 billing codes for each visit and may vary depending on complexity. The most commonly billed codes for a follow up appointment are 99214 +90833. Please inquire during the initial phone consultation for a complete list of billing codes if needed to check costs with your insurance plan.
Dr. Chen is not in-network with other insurance plans at this time.
Some insurance plans have out-of-network benefits and may reimburse 20-90% of fees.
Dr. Chen provides a "Super Bill" that patients can submit to their insurance plan for reimbursement.

Session Fees
75 minute evaluation (pediatric) - $800
60 minute evaluation (adult) - $600
45 minute follow up - $550
25 minute follow up - $375

Included in all evaluations is time outside of the appointment to review medical records (such as neuropsychological testing reports, medical chart from previous providers, etc.) and for Dr. Chen to share her treatment recommendations with your primary care provider. If consent is provided, it also includes time to communicate with therapists, schools, and other providers.
Late Cancellation and No Show fees will be charged per the Cancellation Policy on the Patient Information Page.
Forms, Letters, Communication and Billable Time
Dr. Chen tries her best to have forms and letters completed during your regularly scheduled appointment. However, lengthier items such as accommodation letters or disability paperwork may require a separate appointment. This allows Dr. Chen to further discuss and tailor the letter to your specific needs. Dr. Chen may charge for her time if any work needs to be done outside of your appointment and Dr. Chen will confirm this with you before it is billed. Examples of billable time include but are not limited to parent communication regarding an adult patient if the patient is absent (adult patient must have previously signed release of information and gave consent for Dr. Chen to communicate with others) or having Dr. Chen participate in a school meeting.

0 to 10 minutes: $150
11 to 20 minutes: $300
21 to 30 minutes: $425
31 to 40 minutes: $550
41 to 50 minutes: $625
51 to 60 minutes: $700
